Training of iDempiere – A Series of Events
The Directorate of IT successfully conducted a series of events regarding iDempiere – an ERP solution to automate the Finance Department.
It was the 12th event of the series of seminars and training, conducted by Mr. Rana Faraz Ahmed (Programmer). They were held at Ghotvi hall and Conference Room of Abbasia Campus. The events were chaired by:
- Honorable Director IT, Mr. Rizwan Majeed
- Honorable Treasurer, Dr. Abou Bakar
- Respected DDIT, Mr. Aurangzaeb
The officers of the following departments attended the sessions:
- Directorate of IT
- Finance Department
- Estate Care and Space Management
- Directorate of Engineering
- HEC Projects
- Transport
- Printing Press
- Guest House
- Library
The agenda of this session was, implementation of an ERP Solution – iDempiere, to automate Finance, Procurement and Warehouse of IUB. Mr. Faraz presented the current flaws in our system and how this software will prove to be a game changer. He also entertained queries & reservations of the audience. By the end of the session, Respected Director IT, Treasurer and DDIT, shared their views about this revolutionary step of Worthy Vice Chancellor – Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mehboob, i.e. implementation of iDempiere.
Moreover, a formal training session for all the departments, practicing procurement, was conducted by Mr. Faraz at VC Conference Hall. In this session, he presented how to use iDempeire to automate the procurement and warehouse of the University. At the end of the last session, a high tea was given to the participants at Guest House.
According to the Director IT, Rizwan Majeed, the journey to automate the Finance Department has just started and today was the end of 1st phase. Moreover, he said, now when the training has been completed, we are ready to deploy iDempeire in a real environment. From next week, the whole procurement process of university will be driven by our newly deployed system – iDempiere.
